A small shuttle stopped on in front of Salt City Center on Friday night and 17 children stepped off and excitedly ran to the park.
Ty Douglas, an associate professor at the University of Missouri and one of the center’s leaders and ministers, supervised as the children played in the park before running inside to start choir practice. Salt City Center, located on Fourth Street near Flat Branch Park, opened earlier this year and fully launched in August. Now that Salt City Church has a center, it sends a shuttle to pick up children from different neighborhoods throughout Columbia and brings them to the center for choir practice on Fridays.
